ClinicBox is a small appliance you plug into your office network.
The entire AI model — a clinically-tuned open-weight LLM (Llama 3.1 / Qwen 2.5 class) — runs on the box. Session audio enters the box. The note comes out. Nothing in between ever touches a cloud.
You own the hardware. You control the only network port. Unplug the ethernet mid-session and the note keeps generating. That's not a promise about a vendor. That's the architecture.

Q.01 Why hardware? I already pay $59/mo for Upheal or Mentalyc.
Upheal's SOC 2 audit verifies their promises about how they handle audio. ClinicBox makes the audit unnecessary by architecture — there is no vendor process to audit because there is no vendor in the loop. Over 3 years your total cost is comparable: you replace roughly $2,800 of cloud subscription with an Expected $1,500 hardware + Expected $1,200/yr software. Pricing is indicative and may change before general availability.
Q.02 What if your company shuts down?
The model weights are on your box. The binaries are signed and on-device. We will publish our update-signing keys before general availability. Your box keeps drafting notes regardless of what happens to us.
Q.03 How do I get notes into SimplePractice or TherapyNotes?
One-click copy or PDF export at launch. Deeper SimplePractice and TherapyNotes integrations are on the roadmap, targeted for the quarter after general availability. If you require a deep EHR integration today, ClinicBox is not the right fit yet — we'll tell you that on a call.
Q.04 Is the box HIPAA compliant?
“HIPAA compliant” is not a certification — it is a set of practices, and the practice owner is the covered entity. ClinicBox is designed so you stay the only party with access to PHI; there is no business associate involved in the AI step. We publish our threat model and provide attestation language for your annual risk assessment.
Q.05 Does the AI hallucinate?
Yes — every clinical AI does, and ClinicBox is no exception. We design for clinician-in-the-loop review on every note. We will publish our evaluation methodology and show side-by-side accuracy on real (de-identified) audio against the major cloud scribes once design-partner testing is complete.
Q.06 When can I get one?
We are shipping the first batch to design partners now. Joining the waitlist holds your spot in the next general shipment — you'll get a date estimate by email once we confirm the next batch size.
